Role Overview 

We are seeking a highly motivated and commercially astute Associate to join our growing team. This is a great opportunity to be part of a dynamic firm where you will be exposed to M&A, capital raising and principal investing. You will be part of the founding team, so the role requires someone who is entrepreneurial, can work independently and is willing to hustle when needed. 

We are a small team that gets a lot done and has experience across investment banking, capital markets and technology. This is not a typical investment banking job – you will not spend your days (and nights) cranking out pitch decks. We are low ego, selective about who we work with and aim to operate as efficiently as possible. 

The ideal candidate will have a background in investment banking or private equity, or be ACA or ACCA qualified with experience in transaction services at a Big 4 firm. You will bring strong analytical skills, deal execution experience and an interest in working in a more entrepreneurial environment. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is genuinely interested in finance but tired of large firm bureaucracy and needless inefficiencies that usually lead to late nights and weekends. 

While the team has a background in natural resources, sector knowledge is a bonus, not a requirement. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Support execution of M&A transactions, capital raises and strategic advisory mandates 

  • Conduct detailed financial analysis and valuation (DCF, comparables, precedent transactions) 

  • Assist in identifying and evaluating principal investment opportunities 

  • Conduct commercial and financial due diligence 

  • Create client presentations and internal investment papers 

  • Work closely with senior team members across multiple deals and projects 

Requirements 

  • 3–4 years’ experience in investment banking or Big 4 transaction services (e.g. due diligence or M&A advisory) 

  • ACA or ACCA qualified (if from an accounting background) 

  • Strong understanding of financial modelling and valuation techniques 

  • Excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills 

  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment 

  • High attention to detail and a self-starter mentality 

  • Interest in principal investing and entrepreneurial finance
